Mr. Bamalli is the Assistant Vice President, Human Resources & Planning of the American University of Nigeria, Yola. His portfolio of responsibilities covers Human Resources & Staff welfare, charged with providing personnel support to all employees, which includes staff, Community teaching staff, faculty, employed students and alumni, NYSC, interns, consultants, temporary and casual staff, as well as volunteers. He is responsible for the review and implementation of University policies and procedures, departmental organization and objectives within the University. Nourah is supporting the University compliance to all labor relations and compliance to statutory operational requirements.
Prior to his appointment Nourah was Assistant Vice President, Corporate Services of The Infrastructure Bank Plc, Abuja. He brought the wealth of over three decades of professional experience to his current position, where he started his career as a Senior TV Producer/Director at the Nigerian Television Authority, Kano. In 1988, Nourah made a career shift from the media to the financial services sector when he accepted a position as Public Affairs Manager at Gidauniya Investments & Securities, a dealing member of the Nigerian Stock Exchange. Nourah took up the challenge of banking when he joined the Investment and Financial systems department at United Bank for Africa in 1991 as a Sub-manager.
In 1996, Nourah resumed at IAA Associates, the funds management consultants from where he was seconded to the Petroleum (Special) Trust Fund (PTF) as the Project Manager in charge of North West Zone. Between 1999 and 2005, Nourah was the Head of Intercity Bank’s Credit Department and later Branch Manager in Abuja. When Nigerian banks underwent a round of consolidation in 2005, Intercity Bank, along with 7 other institutions, merged to form Unity Bank. At Unity Bank, Nourah who had risen to the position of Assistant General Manager was appointed the Head of Human Resources and also he chaired the Bank’s Editorial Board. In 2005 he was appointed as the Human Resources Director of Cement Company of Northern Nigeria, a Nigerian Stock Exchange listed company. From 2009 to 2011 Nourah was the Deputy General Manager, Corporate Services of Transnational Corporation of Nigeria Plc.
A well-rounded cross-functional professional, Nourah has served as a member and chairman of several private sector and government-affiliated committees. His professional affiliations include the Nigerian Institute of Management and Chartered Institute of Personnel Management. In recognition of his contributions, Nourah has been a recipient of both state and national NTA Merit Awards for the best TV Producer in 1982
