Ms. Virginia Illah

Ms. Virginia Illah completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from St. Dominic Savio College, Manila in the Philippines. She obtained proficiency training certificate in Critical Care Nursing/Intensive Care Nursing from the National Kidney and Transplant Institute, Manila. She also obtained a Registered Nurse certificate from Ahmadu Bello University Teaching, Hospital, Zaria.

Ms. Illah has over five years’ experience of working both in the international non-governmental organizations and in governmental organizations. She began her career as a Maternal and Child Health Facility Supervisor with Sure-P MCH as well as World Health Organization as an independent monitor in Nigeria. She then later moved on to Medecins Sans Frontiers-France (MSF-F) as a Fistula Nurse (VVF/RVF). Afterwards, she went to further her studies and rejoined MSF-F after she completed the studies as an Intensive Care (ICU) Nurse before joining AUN in January 2018.

Also, she has attended the following workshops and conferences: Anti-Shock Garment (ASG)/Postpartum Hemorrhage Training, Kebbi State (2015), Pre-eclampsia and eclampsia Training Kebbi State (2014), Logistic Management and Information System (LMIS) Training, Sokoto State (2014), Life-Saving Skills (LSS) Training, Kebbi State (2013), Quality Improvement (QIP) Training, Abuja (2013) and has the following certificates: John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Certificate of Course Completion in Global Health, Essential Newborn Care (2017), Nutrition (2016), Family Planning (2016), and Emergency Obstetrics and Newborn Care (EmONC) (2016).
