On June 21, 2022, the TYMBAL Association, a non-governmental organization comprising the AUN Community members of Tambo, Nyandang, Mbula, Bali, Bare, Lunguda, and Bwatye origin, donated educational materials to Zuran 1 Primary School in Dwam Ward, Demsa LGA in Adamawa State.
Over 200 pupils received a donation of 700 hundred notebooks, 25 dozen HB pencils, dozens of blackboard chalk, and 50 sets of school uniforms from the TYMBAL Association.
The TYMBAL Association has core values of promoting diversity and harmony amongst all its members, caring for the needy, and empowering disadvantaged groups within their communities through outreach programs and enlightenment activities.
AUN Faculty, staff, and students also support the association. The donations aim at helping young learners with much-needed materials to empower and motivate them.
Mrs. Clarkson Rose donated on behalf of the TYMBAL Association. Ms. Clarkson described the gesture as an act of solidary and a moral imperative.
"Humanitarian aid can come from either local or international communities. The larger Northeast and Adamawa communities have also benefited from international and national support and we are only extending this gesture to local communities in the spirit of community development which AUN promotes."
The Secretary of the TYMBAL, Mr. Achesom Mzong, said the donation was their second outing since they came together and hinted that the association plans to give more humanitarian support to other communities in the state.
The Chairman of Demsa LGA, Mr. Wenakam Wesley Fwa, who received the items on behalf of the beneficiaries, thanked the donors for the kind gesture and promised that the gift items would be appropriately shared and distributed among the students of the Zuran 1 Primary School.
The TYMBAL Association is also soliciting more support in cash and kind from well-meaning members of the society to help them reach more people and bring joy to many more faces.
