A new state university in Imo State has named Professor Linus Osuagwu of SBE as its pioneer Vice Chancellor (VC).
The former Dean of SBE will lead the Eastern Palm University in its teething years, bringing to bear his experience of almost three decades of university teaching.
Eastern Palm is the 42nd state university to obtain the National Universities Commission license. The appointment of Professor Osuagwu to serve as pioneer VC has received the approval of Governor Rochas Okorocha, the Visitor of Eastern Palm University.
Prior to his deanship of SBE, Professor has held several academic and administrative positions, including the Chair of University-wide Promotions Committee at AUN, pioneer Professor of Marketing at Covenant University, Ota, and pioneer Head of Department of Business Administration & Management Technology at the Lagos State University.
In addition, Professor Osuagwu has been involved in NUC assignments, including developing Benchmark Minimum Academic Standards for postgraduate Marketing programs, resource assessment, and accreditation of programs. Professor Osuagwu has also assessed candidates for professorial positions in many Nigerian universities, in addition to serving as external examiner for PhD programs in many African universities. Professor Osuagwu is a member of several national and international professional bodies, and has attended and presented papers at many national and international conferences and seminars, in addition to authoring scholarly books and journal articles.
Professor Osuagwu, a University of Lagos Valedictorian, joined AUN in 2008 as full Professor of Marketing. He received his Bachelor of Science Technology in Management Technology from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, and Master of Science and PhD in Business Administration/Marketing (with distinction) from the University of Lagos.
