Nursing Science Program

Program Description

The Bachelor of Nursing Science Program provides a comprehensive education in Nursing theory, clinical skills, and research. Students learn various Nursing Science specialties, health care ethics, pharmacology, anatomy, physiology, and more. It forms the scientific basis for professional nursing practice.

The American University of Nigeria operates a concept-based and practice-ready curriculum similar to other American universities. This approach fosters deeper learning that is transferable and relevant to current events, promoting active learning and critical thinking among students.

In response to the increasing complexity of health conditions in contemporary hospital settings, the program aims to produce practice-ready nurses equipped with clinical knowledge, technical skills, critical thinking, communication, professionalism, and management responsibilities.

The AUN Nursing Program boasts experienced faculty and partnerships with institutions like the University of Northern Iowa, offering lectures and immersive simulations to enhance students' clinical practice skills.

Public Health Program

Program Description

In response to global health challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic, the AUN Public Health Program is dedicated to strengthening public health infrastructure and training future public health leaders. Our program emphasizes understanding fundamental public health sciences, disease prevention, and addressing social determinants of health.

Students gain practical experience in syndromic surveillance technology and interdisciplinary collaborations. This prepares graduates to manage health crises, strengthen health systems, and lead community health initiatives worldwide.
