AUN's Final-Year CMD Student Leads OGM's First Outreach, Supports 50 Students at GDSS Bekaji, Yola North

Akachukwu Madueke, a final-year student majoring in Communications and Multimedia Design (CMD) with a minor in Business Administration at the American University of Nigeria (AUN), has sponsored the school fees of 50 students at Government Day Secondary School (GDSS) Bekaji, Yola North, Adamawa State.

The initiative took place on November 21, 2025, during the first community service outreach organized by ORRIN Global Mines (OGM), the mineral exploration and development company founded by Mr. Akachukwu Madueke. The outreach reflects the company’s value-driven approach to corporate citizenship, education, and community growth within Adamawa State.

"At OGM, we believe that our success is tied to the development of the communities where we operate," says Mr. Madueke. "As a young entrepreneur, I am committed to giving back and empowering the next generation of leaders. Our philosophy is simple: mineral wealth should translate into human development, starting with education and empowerment."

The intervention targeted students who were at risk of dropping out due to financial constraints at home. By paying their school fees for the academic session, OGM directly reduced the financial burden on families and ensured that the beneficiaries could remain focused on their studies without interruption.

Representatives from AUN were present at the event, including the Director of Community Service, Mr. Ahmed Aliyu, who joined the outreach to meet with school administrators, observe the project, and document activities for institutional records.

The Principal of GDSS Bekaji, Mrs. Talatu Eliasha, expressed heartfelt appreciation, calling the support “a timely and life-changing gesture that will keep many students in school.” She commended Mr. Akachukwu Madueke for setting a strong example of youth-driven impact and for giving back meaningfully to the community.

Two student beneficiaries, Aisha Awwal Ahmed, an aspiring medical doctor, and Mercy Iliya, shared their gratitude. Aisha prayed for God’s blessings on Mr. Akachukwu, while Mercy thanked both AUN and OGM for the generosity shown to them.

Through this maiden outreach, OGM and Mr. Akachukwu Madueke have demonstrated the transformative potential of private-sector involvement in community development. The project embodies AUN’s mission of leadership, service, and sustainable development, empowering young people to not only excel academically but also contribute meaningfully to society.
