Corps members, Jubilee Fellows, and intern staff at the American University of Nigeria (AUN) began the Spring 2026 semester with a clearer understanding of professional expectations and workplace ethics following a one-day staff development workshop organized by the Human Resources and Planning Department on January 19, 2026.
Held at the 24-Hour Room of the e-Library, the training aimed to equip participants with practical skills, institutional knowledge, and ethical awareness necessary to function effectively within the AUN work environment. The session also familiarized participants with the university’s core values and administrative processes, laying a strong foundation for professional growth and responsible service.
The Interim University Librarian, Mr. Benson T. Ali, welcomed the Corps members, Jubilee Fellows, and interns to the AUN community. He encouraged them to uphold high standards of conduct, take full advantage of learning opportunities on campus, and remain inquisitive. Emphasizing that curiosity drives growth, he urged participants not to hesitate to ask questions whenever clarification is needed.
The workshop featured presentations from facilitators across various university departments, fostering interactive discussions on AUN’s vision, mission, and institutional values. Participants were introduced to the core principles of Excellence, Integrity, and Service, while sessions on professional conduct and workplace ethics underscored the importance of punctuality, reliability, accountability, and respect for organizational hierarchy.
By addressing both professional competence and personal development, the training equipped Corps members and Jubilee Fellows with essential tools to navigate workplace demands and contribute meaningfully to the university community.
