President DeWayne Frazier has applauded the American University of Nigeria community for its incredible support of the institution's success during the outgoing year.
Dr. Frazier's end-of-year message to students, faculty, staff, and alumni paid tribute to their collective commitment and dedication toward realizing the university's vision in the outgoing year.
The President described 2023 as an eventful year for AUN "as we take stock of this year, I think we have plenty of reasons to be incredibly proud of what we've accomplished together and look forward with enthusiasm into 2024."
According to Dr. Frazier, during the outgoing year, AUN has been filled with notable accomplishments, which include the expansion of academic offerings such as B.Sc. Nursing, B.Sc. Public Health, and B.Eng. Civil Engineering courses.
He said in 2023, the number of academic schools also grew from six to seven with the opening of the School of Basic Medical & Allied Health Sciences. In addition, the university also commissioned two new state-of-the-art buildings, which house the School of Law and the School of Engineering.
Another landmark achievement in 2023 is that AUN became the first university in sub-Saharan Africa to be admitted into the Council of Tuition Exchange Universities. Dr. Frazier continued, "our students also continued to achieve outstanding performance in the pursuit of academic excellence".
The President pledged that the AUN campus will continually evolve to meet the changing demands of its diverse community of academics, administrators, researchers, and learners drawn from around the world. President Frazier contended that the American University of Nigeria is determined to always provide the competitive environment deserved by its students and faculty. The President also stated that 2024 is slated to be one of the best years in the university’s history.
