On December 7, 2023, President DeWayne Frazier received officials of Tabital Pulaaku International, who paid him a courtesy visit in his office to familiarize and to discuss possible future collaborations.
Tabital Pulaaku International (TPI) is a socio-cultural society of international repute, with the responsibility of promoting and protecting the arts and culture of the Fula people throughout West Africa and the Sahel Regions.TPI ensures the sustenance of the unique traditions and continuation of the Fula people.
The delegation included Vice-President TPI-Nigeria, Auwal Gonga, Head of Fulani Organization, Alseyni Barry, Special Adviser to the Guinean President, Ibrahima D. Diallo, Head of Labe Province, D. Abdourahmane, Vice-President of TPI, and Abdoul Razak Bah. Others are the Chairman of TPI, Adamawa State Chapter, Prof. Murtala Aliyu, the Wakili Fulbe and Secretary Solidarity and Development, TPI, Abubakar Umar Girei, State Coordinator, Pastoral Resolve, Adamawa State, Muhammad Bello, and Aissaton Barry, TPI member.
Among key discussions were the possibility of future collaboration in the areas of scholarships for underprivileged children from local communities. Harnessing and commercialization of the rich Nigerian culture through tourism, and identification and preservation of the Fula-people’s artifacts also gained focus during the visit. The team officially invited the AUN President to a meeting to further explore the way forward in the different areas of collaboration.
President Frazier expressed his appreciation to the Fula cultural custodians, noting that the rich culture of the Fula people is too beautiful to be relegated amongst other tribes of Nigeria. He added that he values international cultures, especially the rich diversity of Nigeria’s cultural heritage.
