On Thursday, June 10, 2021, sixty-five juniors from the Word of Faith Secondary School (Jesus the King College) Uba, Borno state, were in AUN for a field trip. The students, made up of 45 males and 20 females, were accompanied by six teachers.
Receiving them at the Robert Pastor e-library, interim University librarian Mr. Benson Ali explained the uniqueness and richness of AUN's digital library while the Reference Service Manager, Ms. Abigail Dauda, conducted them through the library complex.
The leader of the delegation and the Director of the school, Mr. Maina Gadzama, appreciated the AUN management for granting them the opportunity for the field trip despite restrictions imposed by COVID-19 protocols.
"We came from Uba in Borno state to visit AUN so can expose our students to a modern academic environment that will challenge them to aim higher in life, having learnt so much about the University on the Internet. He added that AUN is quite different from other institutions they know and have visited. Appreciating the warm reception, he also referred to AUN's impact on educational development in the local communities as worthy of emulation.
Marry John, a JSS 2 student, also expressed satisfaction with the AUN environment. "I am grateful to God for bringing me to AUN on this field trip. I am impressed with what I have seen here. The environment is good for learning. I was surprised; I did not realize I was in Nigeria. You would think this was in a different country", she said while commending the AUN Founder for his vision.
The students ended the trip after touring the eco-friendly Administration Building, which houses different offices.
