Dr. Salihu Adamu Girei is currently serving as the Chair of the Chemical Engineering Department at the American University of Nigeria (AUN), Yola. He holds a Ph.D. in Process Systems and Energy Engineering from Cranfield University in the United Kingdom, an MSc in Chemical Engineering with a concentration in Nanotechnology from the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in Dhahran, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of Technology, Yola, Nigeria (Now Modibbo Adama University Yola).
Before joining the AUN, Dr. Girei worked as a senior lecturer in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Maiduguri, Borno State, Nigeria. He also served as a research assistant and Lecturer B in the Chemical Engineering Department at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Dhahran, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Dr. Girei is a distinguished academic, having earned a Teaching Fellowship from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA, and a Kaufman Teaching Certificate Program (KTCP) certification from the Teaching + Learning Lab, Cambridge, MIT. He has also completed an Advancing Learning Through Evidence-Based STEM course from the Center for the Integration of Research, Teaching, and Learning (CIRTL) at the Wisconsin Center for Education Research, USA.
He is a registered engineer with both the Nigerian Council for the Regulation of Engineering (COREN) and the Nigeria Society of Chemical Engineers (NSChE). He holds memberships in various international professional organizations, including the Energy Institute (EI), the Institute of Engineering Technology (IET), and the European Society of Precision Engineering and Nanotechnology (EUSPEN).
Dr. Girei is widely recognized for his contributions to the field of chemical engineering and has published papers in prestigious journals and conferences in Saudi Arabia, Finland, Hungary, the United Kingdom, and Nigeria.
