Dr. Adebayo Isaac Olosho is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Petroleum Chemistry at the American University of Nigeria (AUN), Yola. Since joining AUN in 2024, Dr. Olosho has taught various courses including CHE 711 - Natural Gas Production and Conversion Technologies, CHE 324 – Industrial Chemical Technology, CHE 221 – Industrial Chemical Process, and CHE 121 – General Chemistry. His research primarily focuses on the synthesis, characterization, and applications of sustainable polymers, with particular expertise in bio-polymers derived from renewable resources.
Before AUN, Dr. Olosho served as a Lecturer at the African University of Science and Technology (AUST), Abuja (2023–2024), where he taught undergraduate chemistry courses, including General Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, and Inorganic Chemistry. From 2021 to 2022, he was a Research Fellow at the National Chemical Laboratory, Pune, India, under a prestigious postgraduate research fellowship awarded by The World Academy of Science (TWAS) and the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), New Delhi. During his time there, his work on the development of sustainable vitrimers from biobased materials broke new ground in sustainable materials science.
Dr. Adebayo Isaac Olosho has published over 25 Scopus-indexed articles, with 62 citations, an h-index of 4, and an i10-index of 2 on Google Scholar. In January 2023, he was a lead presenter at the Nigerian Academy of Science (NAS) Conference. Additionally, he has presented his research at various international platforms, including the National Symposium on Polymer Science and Technology at Somaiya Vidyavihar University, Mumbai, India, in May 2022.
From 2020 to 2021, Dr. Olosho worked as a Chemist and IT Officer at Memark Calibration Services, a petroleum oil servicing company. He earned his PhD in Industrial Chemistry from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria, in 2023, with his doctoral research centered on developing biobased vitrimers with enhanced thermomechanical properties from inedible oils, significantly advancing the field of sustainable polymers.
Dr. Olosho is actively collaborating with Dr. Kiran Nair at the National Chemical Laboratory, Pune, India, on the development of biobased thermosets. He also works closely with Dr. Adekunle Adeleke at Nile University of Nigeria, contributing to research on functional materials derived from biomass while assisting in the supervision of PhD students. In addition, Dr. Olosho serves as a reviewer for ACS Agricultural Science and Technology, where he applies his expertise in bio-derived materials.
His research primarily focuses on the synthesis, characterization, and applications of sustainable polymers, with particular expertise in bio-polymers derived from renewable resources.
