Ahmad Maidamisa Aliyu

In 2012, Dr. Ahmad M. Aliyu graduated with a doctorate in mathematics (Operations Research) from the esteemed Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. In 1990 and 2003, he graduated with a bachelor's degree in operations research and a master's degree from Modibbo Adama University (previously Federal University of Technology, Yola), Nigeria. At the prestigious American University of Nigeria (AUN), Dr. Ahmad M. Aliyu is an Associate Professor of Operations Research with tenure who works full-time in the School of Arts and Sciences. In addition to having 30 years of experience as a teacher in higher education, Dr. Ahmad M. Aliyu has a strong background in community service, research, and publication before joining American University of Nigeria Yola. Ahmad had been the department head for a year, the Ag. Coordinator for Management Information System (M.I.S.) for a year, and the Ag. Coordinator for the Computer Center for a year. MAU for three (3) years. In the broad domains of operations research, statistics, and mathematics, Dr. Ahmad M. Aliyu is actively involved in scholarly publications and research projects. Over eight Master's students, six PhD students, two additional Masters students, and thirty-nine undergraduate students have been mentored by him until completion. He has given presentations at two conferences in Malaysia and has over Twenty publications published in respectable, peer-reviewed national and international journals. He has chaired the AUN School of Engineering's appraisal and promotion committee and served as a member of the school's PhD supervising committee for computers and information technology. He belongs to the African Federation of Operations Research Societies (AFROS), the International Federation of Operations Research Societies (IFORS), and the Operations research Institute for Decision Sciences and Analytics of Nigeria (ORIDSAN).
