“Vaccination is the cheapest means of disease prevention and control,” said the Chief Administrator of AUN Health Center, Philip Eappen.
He was speaking during the campus-wide free vaccinations held on March 6. Mr. Eappen, added that the vaccines offer long-term prevention against tetanus, yellow fever, hepatitis, and meningitis for the next 10 to 20 years.
Most of the diseases like meningitis become so rampant during the hot season that “we want our community to be safe and not suffer from any killer diseases, unlike the case of malaria where you take doses of the medicine and get better”.
Four hundred and ten people availed themselves of the free vaccinations.
