The American University of Nigeria (AUN) on April 16, 2024, received the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) regional delegates in the Office of the President, Dr. DeWayne Frazier, on a courtesy call.
ACCA is the global professional accounting body founded in 1904, offering the Chartered Certified Accountants' qualification. Headquartered in London, United Kingdom, ACCA has over 200,000 members worldwide, with a network of 110 offices and centers in 51 countries, 346 Approved Learning Partners (ALP), and more than 7,600 certified employers globally.
President DeWayne Frazier received the ACCA team, led by the Regional Head Ms. Mopelola Jatto, in his office. The visitors highlighted the essence of the ACCA accreditation exercise and requested a partnership with the university on professional certification and training.
During the accreditation visit, the ACCA team interacted with SBE students and promised to extend the qualification opportunity to all AUN students, irrespective of their discipline. This pledge aligns with AUN's inclusive values. The students received this commitment with great enthusiasm, which marked a positive end to the visit. Additionally, the Regional Head announced that AUN would be approved as both the Study Center and Computer-Based Examination Center in North-Eastern Nigeria, further strengthening the sense of inclusion and consideration for AUN in this partnership.
