About 100 students from Ahmadu Ribadu College, Yola, visited the American University of Nigeria (AUN) on October 19, 2026, to learn about its academic programs, admission requirements, and campus life.
During a session at the AUN Library Auditorium, university representatives introduced the students to the opportunities available at AUN and encouraged them to think carefully about their educational choices.
Mr. Lincoln Morris, Associate Vice President for Enrollment, urged the students to use their education to develop ideas and contribute to Nigeria’s progress. “Nigeria needs you, to innovate, to create progress,” Morris said.
Mr. Murtala Balteh, Director of Admissions, explained AUN’s liberal arts education system, including opportunities to combine a major with a minor and participate in clubs, sports, and other campus activities. He also highlighted the importance of active student participation in university life.
Mr. Gidado Ahmed, Assistant Manager of Admissions and Enrollment Management, offered practical advice on choosing the right courses. He urged the students to check, that their Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) subject combinations meet the requirements of their preferred programs and to consult their teachers and school examination officers when in doubt.
The visit ended with a tour of selected campus facilities, guided by the students’ academic interests. Those considering Law and Engineering had the opportunity to explore relevant facilities, ask questions, and get a closer look at what studying at AUN could be like.
