At Courtesy Visit to Lamido's Palace, President Ensign Receives Blessings, Support

On July 8, President Ensign paid a courtesy visit to the Lamido Adamawa, His Royal Highness Dr. Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Mustafa, where she received royal blessings and support.

Accompanied by the Provost, Professor Attahir Yusuf, President Ensign expressed her delight to return to lead the University and contribute to the educational development of Adamawa State.

"It is a privilege to be back in Yola; I'm part of you. And I'm honored to have this opportunity again to lead the American University of Nigeria. We want to make sure that everyone has an education in our community because, of course, education is the foundation of everything that we do in life and the world."

President Ensign took the opportunity to invite His Royal Highness Lamido Adamawa to the 12th Commencement ceremony on July 10.

Speaking through the Galadima, the Lamido expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the visit.

“His Royal Highness and the Adamawa Rulers' Council have received the news of your second coming to the American University Nigeria with joy. And therefore, we wish to use this opportunity to congratulate and welcome you back to Adamawa.

“As the Adamawa Rulers Council, we believe that your reappointment is a testimony of your track record of dedication, commitment, and hard work exhibited during your previous tenure in the University. We are confident that you will excel in the performance of your duties.

“Once again, we have observed with pride that the American University of Nigeria has become a university to reckon with, not only in Nigeria but in the entire world. The University has consistently proven to be above board in producing outstanding graduates in character and learning.

“Let me, therefore, applaud the leadership and management of the University. We are proud of your noble achievements in the University.

“Lastly, I'd like to also assure you of His Royal Highness' readiness to support you at all times. We pray to Almighty God to continue to offer you the support you need at all times. Once again, I wish you a successful tenure at the American University of Nigeria. Thank you very much!”
