The latest study on the Fixed Point Theorem co-authored by American University of Nigeria’s (AUN) Dr. Sirajo Yahaya, of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, School of Arts and Sciences, and others researchers, titled “A New Approach to Jaggi-Wardowski-Type Fixed Point Theorems” has been published this January, 2024 by the “Issues of Analysis “Journal which is index by Scopus and Web of Science.
The study introduced the concept of Jaggi-type hybrid (G, φ, F)-contraction and proved some novel fixed point theorems that cannot be inferred from their cognate ones in both metric and quasi-metric spaces. A non-trivial example is also provided to support the assumptions forming the obtained theorems. The results are applied to obtain a new condition for the existence and uniqueness of a solution to a Fredholm-type integral equation.
