AUN faculty members are gaining greater independence in using digital technology for teaching, academic defenses, virtual meetings, and international collaboration following a practical training organized by the university’s Teaching and Learning Center (TLC).
Held September 18, 2026, in Conference Room 26 at the e-Library Complex, the session equipped faculty with practical skills to operate smart and collaborative devices, including the Big Screen, reducing their routine reliance on IT support.
Mr. Yawale Sabe, Information Technology Software Engineer, and members of the IT Department facilitated the training, which focused on helping faculty use the devices confidently across a range of academic settings.
The newly acquired skills can support faculty members who teach and collaborate with international students and external partners, as well as those who participate in virtual conferences, meetings, thesis and dissertation defenses, and other technology-enabled academic engagements.
Dr. Agatha Ada Ukata, Interim Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences and Head of the TLC, thanked faculty members for participating and emphasized the importance of developing practical knowledge of the technology.
“I believe this training is useful to you, because in this era of technology and class delivery, faculty members who deal with international students and engage in virtual conferences and academic defenses should have this practical knowledge,” she urged.
The initiative forms part of the Teaching and Learning Center’s efforts to strengthen faculty capacity and promote the effective integration of technology into academic delivery.
Participants expressed satisfaction with the session and called for follow-up training to further develop their skills in using smart and collaborative devices.
