The American University of Nigeria (AUN) has awarded a full-tuition scholarship to Ekanem Princess-Allegra Uyai-Abasi, valedictorian of Air Force Comprehensive School, Yola, to study Politics and International Studies at the University.
The scholarship gives the high-achieving student an opportunity to pursue her university education at AUN and reflects the University’s commitment to supporting talented young Nigerians through access to quality higher education.
The scholarship was highlighted during a courtesy visit by the Commandant of Air Force Comprehensive School, Wing Commander S. I. Tahir, and senior school administrators to AUN President Prof. DeWayne Frazier. The delegation expressed appreciation for the scholarship and AUN’s continued support for the development of young people.
Wing Commander Tahir described the scholarship as a significant opportunity for the valedictorian and said it could inspire other students to pursue academic excellence.
President Frazier welcomed the opportunity to support the school’s top-performing student and reaffirmed AUN’s commitment to developing young people equipped to make meaningful contributions to their communities and beyond.
He also linked the scholarship to the vision of University Founder His Excellency Atiku Abubakar, who established AUN as a not-for-profit institution focused on developing young leaders and expanding access to education.
“AUN is proud of our longstanding and mutually beneficial relationship with Air Force Comprehensive School, and we look forward to strengthening this important partnership for many years to come,” President Frazier said.
The scholarship strengthens the longstanding relationship between AUN and Air Force Comprehensive School while giving one of the school’s highest-achieving students an opportunity to begin her university journey at AUN.
