AUN PRESS RELEASE: AUN Welcomes a Record Breaking Freshmen for Fall 2024

Yola, Adamawa State, 14th October, 2024

The American University of Nigeria (AUN) has recorded a record-breaking enrollment of freshmen, transfer, and graduate students for the fall 2024, as the enrollment went up with over 27% of the projected target.

As we reflect with pride on the perseverance and commitment of the admissions team in attaining this record-breaking enrolment, we remain grateful to the University leadership for propelling and supporting us in implementing our strategic plan to reach this milestone. The admissions department's zeal and determination to break new enrollment heights has just begun," said Mr. Murtala Balteh, Director of Admission

The AUN President, Dr. DeWayne Frazier, took a proactive approach to promote the significance of American-style liberal arts education, which places a strong emphasis on critical thinking, creativity, inclusivity, diverse opportunities, and the practical application of knowledge in real-world scenarios.  In addition, the presence of the US embassy's American Window at the University further reinforces these values and has further boosted the momentum of enrollment.

"This significant increase in enrollment not only reflects the institution's commitment to academic excellence and innovation but also highlights the growing interest in quality education in this region of the country and continent. This type of enrollment does not happen by accident. It was truly a team effort from our admissions, marketing, students', President's Ambassador Team', and many others." Dr. DeWayne Frazier, AUN President.

More students and parents are recognizing the value of liberal Arts education, "I have a full understanding that AUN's liberal arts education will broaden my horizons by deepening my knowledge in business, entrepreneurship, and more, equipping me for a well-rounded future as I have seen in many of AUN's graduates, that what's brought me to AUN."  Said Halima Shettima, an Electrical Electronic Engineering freshman.

The University is happy to announce that the fall 2024 enrollment has increased by 136% compared to fall 2023.
