AUN’s Female Security Officers Take IWD Celebration to Yola Specialist Hospital

AUN’s Female Security Officers Take IWD Celebration to Yola Specialist Hospital

On the 45th celebration of the International Women’s Day, female officers of AUN’s Safety & Security department paid a compassionate visit to the Adamawa State Specialist Hospital. They shared quality time with women and children in the wards and later distributed food items and personal care products.

The Chief Security Officer, Olayide Tolulope Babalola was on ground with her officers to show love and support to the women and children admitted in the hospital for one health reason or the other.

Babalola said other than marking the International Women's Day, it is second nature for women who are nurturers and mothers to want to come to a place like a hospital, to support the less privileged.

She added that in the past, the female officers celebrated the day by having a get-together amongst themselves, but this time around, they decided to do something more meaningful and impactful by touching lives.

Items distributed during the visit include beverages, detergent, bar soaps, noodles, pasta, disinfectants, and snacks and diapers for the children. They are essential items that would help the female patients to cushion the economic hardship presently being faced by many in the country.

Beneficiaries of the goodwill donations were women in the maternity and surgical wards, and children in the pediatric wards.

Nurse-on-duty, Victoria Joseph, who received the team thanked AUN and the officers for their thoughtfulness.
