Final-year Communication & Multimedia Design Department (CMD) students defended their projects on May 9, 2023.
CMD 495 is a “practical capstone project”, according to the program's information pamphlet shared at the Professor Idorenyin Akpan Multimedia Lab, where the event was held.
"The project intends that each graduating student contributes to societal development by utilizing the knowledge skills and discipline he or she has acquired to embark on a selfless project, and also challenge the students and others to be a part of community development," according to the pamphlet.
The Chair of the Communication and Multimedia Design (CMD) program, Prof. Joseph Rishante, said his management team plans to upgrade the department's project defense sessions to a level where professional stakeholders from media organizations, tertiary institutions, and government agencies would be invited to watch.
"Over the years, we've been trying to elevate the standard of this course to a level where we can publicize it nationally and, possibly, internationally. And I am happy that the instructors are gradually going about it systematically," he stated.
Some of the students who defended their respective projects with titles include:
- Fatima Marafa Kabiru: "Giving for the Sake of Love"
- Nafisa Abdulazeez: "That Confidence, Our Color"
- Juanita Bala: "The Reduction of Unemployment and Poverty in Nigeria"
- Bemuter Tilley Gyado and Veno Amanguno: "The AUN Experience"
- Grace Bulama Maina: "An AUN Advert"
- Leah Dutse: "Through the Wire," and,
- Chidiebube Okey-Onwuka: "The Strong for the Weak"
