On May 8, 2023, a delegation from the American University of Nigeria got a warm reception at the 9th Matriculation ceremony of the Federal College of Education, Yola.
Acting Dean, School of Engineering (SOE), Professor Abubakar Sadiq Husseini, delivered a goodwill message from the AUN President, Professor Attahir Yusuf, who commended the unwavering commitment and dedication to academic excellence of the College.
Prof. Attahir Yusuf also expressed delight in the successful hosting of the Matriculation ceremony which he said marked a significant milestone in new students' academic journey, while urging all stakeholders to remain steadfast in their pursuit of academic excellence.
"On behalf of the American University of Nigeria, I felicitate with the Governing Council, Senate, Management, and the entire students of the Federal College of Education, Yola, on this matriculation ceremony held in honor of your new undergraduate students.
"We also congratulate the new students on their admission into your College and their proud parents for their support to the students. We hope these new students will imbibe the College's values and demonstrate commitment to their studies as students of the prestigious College”, the AUN message said.
At the ceremony, which was graced by various heads of institutions, governing council members, staff members, dignitaries, matriculating students, and their parents and loved ones, 580 students took the ceremonial oath to pursue their education with diligence and integrity.
The new students were admitted into 100-level and 200-level to study in various degree programs leading to the award of Bachelor of Arts (B.A. Hons) in education under the academic guidance of the University of Maiduguri, in Borno State.
The Provost of FCE Yola, Dr. Mohammed Usman Degereji, formally welcomed the matriculating students and encouraged them to bring the right attitude to studies while embracing the vision of the College.
