On Saturday, October 29th, the Films & Trips committee of the CAB club hosted the third part of their four-part Halloween weekend events tagged "Halloween Party". A Halloween party is a party, often a costume party held around Halloween. The event was held at the Students Hub parking lot, opposite the GTB football field and adjacent to the Admin II building. Tasty samosas and spring rolls were served as light refreshments, alongside chilled drinks and water; and AUN's very own DJ Wamzy handled the music for most of the night. Some attendees gave me their opinions on the event, Ngumimi Koughna, 4th year Law Student describing the event in great detail, said "Like most parties in AUN the Halloween costume party started off with a slow burn. The music was playing but the guests were few. After about an hour people finally showed up and it made the wait worthwhile because in almost every corner of the room existed a career straight out of a magazine, an amazing show or just pure pop euphoria. The student body was in its creative bag. When DJ Helena got into the booth things only zinged up from there as it was one banger after the other. The night was however short lived as the vibes although forthcoming just weren't fast enough."
Chidere Enwerem, final- year Information Systems student, summarized the event by saying, "It was very nice, some costumes were nice and some were not. The food was amazing, and DJ Ena's music was really good. A good number of people came for the party but I left early though."
About the event, another attendee Wandoo Chagu, fourth- a year Law student, said "The first thing I noticed about the party was the decoration, it created a scary vibe that screamed Halloween. A lot of people put effort into their costumes and it was great to see the looks. The vibe was nice, and there was great music, especially from DJ Ena."
The event had a huge turnout of students, especially since dressing up as characters for Halloween is a huge part of the tradition; so a lot of students dressed up in crazy entertaining outfits, and other students who did not dress up came to see costumes enjoy the music and the food as well.
