The Graduation Awards ceremony for the AUN Class of 2022 on Friday, May 20, 2022, was another colorful and momentous event to be relished by students, parents, and guests. In this event everyone looks forward to recognizing outstanding students in academics, athletics, community service, and leadership.
Traditionally held in the Commencement Hall, this year's event was exceptional and a befitting prelude to the Commencement ceremony held the following day. The AUN Founder, HE Atiku Abubakar, GCON, his friends and associates, AUN Trustees and Governing Council members, senior management, faculty, staff, and students were joined by parents and friends of graduating seniors.
President Ensign set the tone of expectation high, telling the graduating students that she is proud that they have achieved brilliant success in their academic journey.
"AUN prepares students to apply their hard earned knowledge in the real world. We educate the whole person."
The prominent star of the night was Natural and Environmental Sciences major Emmanuel Funsho Alakunle. He carted away five top prizes! Mr. Alakunle, the 2022 Valedictorian whose concentration was Biomedical Science, graduated Summa Cum Laude. He won the AUN Founder's Award for Outstanding Academic Performance, the Award for Academic Excellence, and the Award for Academic Excellence --Overall Best Graduating Student in the School of Arts and Sciences. He also won the Award for Academic Excellence--Best Graduating Student in the NES program, and the Provost/VPAA Award for Academic Excellence.
Adeoluwafimihan Inloluwa Adio-Yinusa won the Award for Academic Distinction for both the Accounting program and the Overall Best Graduating Student in the School of Business and Entrepreneurship (SBE).
Mofiyinfoluwa Gladys Adebayo won the Award for Academic Distinction for the Software Engineering program and the Overall Best Graduating Student in the School of Information Technology and Computing (SITC). She also carted away the Leadway Assurance Award for Academic Excellence and Best Graduating Female Student from SITC.
Pwagwadi Anthony won the Award for Academic Distinction for both the Public/International Law program and the Overall Best Graduating Student in the School of Law (SoL). She also won the Leadway Assurance Award for Academic Excellence and Best Graduating Female Student from SoL.
Dr. Inuwa Ibrahim, who graduated from the Information Systems program, won the Doctoral Award, while Hyelda Nathan Dzarma won the Award for Academic Distinction as Best Graduating student in the Master's program and best graduating student in the School of Graduate Studies.
