Nationwide Digital Summit Kicks Off at AUN American Space

The American University of Nigeria on 19th August launched "Bridging Digital Portfolios," an eight-week virtual summit at its American Space to equip Nigerians for the digital economy.

The hybrid event, hosted via Zoom and streamed across American Spaces nationwide, attracted over 500 participants from diverse regions and backgrounds, all united by a shared goal, digital empowerment. Sessions explored key pathways in the digital economy, including remote job applications, entrepreneurship, freelancing, and performance management in a rapidly evolving digital era.

In her opening remarks, Ms. Stella Udeogwu, Director of AUN American Space, emphasized the importance of equipping young Nigerians with globally competitive digital skills. She stated that the summit was “a gateway to global opportunities.” Participants were urged to engage fully throughout the eight weeks, with certificates of completion offered to those maintaining at least 70% attendance.

The summit began with an in-depth discussion on navigating opportunities in the digital economy. Facilitators provided participants with hands-on strategies for identifying suitable remote positions, creating portfolios tailored for the online market, and understanding essential metrics for tracking personal productivity. The session also emphasized the importance of performance measurement and goal-setting, encouraging the use of simple digital tools to track progress and enhance focus in today’s fast-paced world
