On November 15, 2019, President Dekle inaugurated and presided over the first-ever meeting of the AUN Congregation.
In her opening remarks, the President defined the AUN congregation as a statutory organ of the university required by the National Universities Commission.
The Congregation meets twice in an academic year during which the President, chair of the event provides members with an update about AUN’s state of affairs.
During her inaugural address, President Dekle gave very important updates on the past, present, and future of AUN.
"When I was inaugurated as the fourth president, I said in my speech that I wanted to be known as now and when I leave AUN, as AUN's Sustainability President.
President Dekle who joined AUN in 2017, as the fourth CEO of the university, is very passionate about sustainability and green life.
Her achievements in the past two years include the harmonization of a working organizational structure.
She reinforced the idea of AUN being founded on the philosophies of development and entrepreneurship and encouraged every employee to develop the mindset of entrepreneurs who would become more excited about their jobs and create a network of support within the work environment.
A congregation at a university is an avenue for full -time, senior members of the learning community to come together in one setting.
Members of the AUN congregation include the President who is the chair, the Provost, VP Finance, Librarian, full-time academic staff, full-time non-academic staff who have earned a recognized university degree (Bachelors, Masters, or Ph.D.), the Registrar who serves as the secretary and a quorum of 33 percent is required for each session.
At the town hall segment, the President, who was supported by the Vice Presidents for Academics, Finance & Administration, University Relations and Student Affairs, fielded questions from the floor.
The next AUN congregation is scheduled for April 17, 2020.
