On October 25, 2023, President DeWayne Frazier kicked off the donation of soccer balls to local clubs in the Yola neighborhood. This fulfills his pledge to impact Yola youths through sporting activities, as hinted in his 14th AUN Commencement speech.
President Frazier toured soccer pitches along Yola Bye-pass to present each club's management and teams with brand new, AUN-branded balls. The first teams to receive the AUN-branded soccer balls were Sky Red FC, Yolde Pate FC, and Dodore United FC, which competed at the Aliyu Mustapha College, the venue of the Yola Premier League Tournament.
The AUN President encouraged the young players to always dream big and train to accomplish their dreams, hoping that someday in the near future, they might be listed to play in the Nigeria Premier League or represent Nigeria in the Super Eagles for international competitions.
Sky Red FC Coach Rufai Yunusa and his assistant, Kamal Lawan, thanked the President immensely, saying his gift is a morale booster for the team.
Coach Ibrahim Umar of Dodore United, Yola, and his assistant praised Dr. Frazier for the kind gesture. They said they are satisfied to see that what they have been doing has attracted the attention of the most outstanding school in Yola.
The next phase of the President's visit to local clubs will be at Dandu, Wuro-Chekke, and Sabon Pegi-Bamba.
