Associate Professor Magaji Bello of the School of Law formally assumed duties as the new Director of Academic Planning (DAP) on Thursday, September 19, 2024. The interim university provost and vice president for academic affairs, Dr. James Adawale, and his administration counterpart, Mr. Daniel Okereke, attended a brief ceremony at the School of Arts & Sciences Faculty Lounge, where outgoing DAP Professor Abdulmuminu Sa'ad handed over the office to him.
In his farewell remarks, Prof. Abdulmumini Sa’ad expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve in that capacity and acknowledged the collaborative spirit of the academic community that has made his job successful. He reassured members of the AUN academic community that the continuation of such spirit will undoubtedly enhance academic planning and development at AUN.
A key highlight of the event was the presentation of commendation and appreciation letters to Prof. Sa’ad, which was delivered by the Vice President for Administration, Mr. Dan Okereke, and Dr. Lawal Momoh Hussaini, chair of the General Education Department, in recognition of his dedicated service and leadership.
In his remarks, the incoming DAP, Dr. Magaji, expressed his enthusiasm for the new role and his commitment to advancing AUN’s academic planning strategies. He set a forward-looking tone for his tenure, emphasizing the importance of teamwork and innovation, which should fill us all with optimism for the future.
