Professor Tarek becomes IEEE Fellow

The Dean of the AUN School of Engineering, Professor Tarek El-Bawab, has been elevated to a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), effective from January 1, 2022.

The professional association for electronic and electrical engineering professionals based in the United States said Professor Tarek is recognized "for contributions to the definition, recognition, accreditation criteria, and program development of modern network-engineering education."

"The IEEE Fellow is one of the most prestigious honors of the IEEE and is bestowed upon a minimal number of Senior Members who have contributed significantly to the advancement or application of engineering, science, and technology, bringing significant value to our society. The number of IEEE Fellows elevated in a year is no more than one-tenth of one percent of the total IEEE voting membership,” President and CEO of IEEE Susan K. Land, said in a letter to the Provost and VP for Academic Affairs, Professor Attahir Yusuf.
