At the School of Arts & Sciences information session of February 21, 2020, the Chair of Mathematics, Dr. Osho Ajayi, stressed that students should show a positive attitude towards math.
"Most people avoid Mathematics; they think their courses don't require mathematics."
He disregarded any of such assumptions, saying that it is compulsory for everyone to do at least the basic math level.
This session is held every semester to enlighten first-year and returning students on new and existing policies of the faculty, changes in major, course registration and address issues of academic concern brought forward by the students.
Dean of SAS, Dr. Patrick Fay, addressed the students on class attendance which, he said, is a prerequisite to scoring 75 percent in order to take the examinations.
"Stay away from plagiarism, as it will lead to your failure when you are caught."
He reminded students about AUN's zero-tolerance policy towards plagiarism as "it is a pathway to failure".
The session ended with a question-and-answer segment to address concerns by students about their faculty and the several academic challenges they encounter.
