May John's soul rest in peace! We extend our condolences to all of you seated here to celebrate Prof. John Leonard's life.
We once again convey our condolences to his family, friends, loved ones, and the entire AUN learning community.
Although we are celebrating the life of our dearest colleague, Prof. John Leonard, it is indeed very sad for all of us. It is appropriate that we are celebrating his life and yes we are all grieving for the loss of our colleague John!
Prof. John Leonard was a committed academic and contributed to the development of AUN, especially SAS, SBE, the Department of Economics, and the School of Graduate Studies. I will particularly remember him for his commitment to teaching, research, and service to the AUN learning community.
He is always ready to step in to teach courses across schools whenever we have scheduling pressure, especially SBE. During his tenure with us, he served in many committees at the Department, School, and University levels. He also served in senior academic leadership roles as well.
John cared about his students, his colleagues, and the Yola community. He will also be remembered by many as a very kind, compassionate, caring, and courteous person.
Once again, rest in peace, John! And our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and the AUN learning community!
