From dream to reality, the scholarship that graced my path ignited a journey of endless possibilities. My name is Fatima Adeniyi. I’m a fourth-year communication and multimedia design major, concentrating in public relations and advertising. The scholarship bestowed upon me at the American University of Nigeria has been a life-changing gift, propelling me toward a future where success knows no limits.
The scholarship has saved my parents and I from debt, given me a career advantage, and better academic opportunities, helped me to solely focus on learning to improve my performance, and has broadened my experiences. As a scholarship beneficiary, I enjoy privileges such as networking, personal and professional development, advanced educational opportunities, and learning at ease within a comfortable eco-friendly environment.
I spent the majority of my life in Ondo state, I never knew how life outside the Yoruba people looked like or felt like. I’ve always wanted to know how it felt to be in the northern region and to experience the northern culture because my mom was from the northern part of Nigeria. The scholarship at AUN made me get into one of the best schools in the northern part of Nigeria, therefore, bringing my dreams to reality.
This has made me socially and culturally enculturated, sensitive, and aware. I have diversified across various cultures by interacting and making friends with people from different regions of Nigeria and beyond Nigeria. I have acquired all-rounded knowledge and skills that could be used in real-life situations, from my instructors and other members of staff from different regions of Nigeria and beyond Nigeria.
