The need for high-level technical expertise in the field of computer science is ever expanding. This in turn is driving top corporate organizations to include the acquisition of
a doctoral degree as a pre-requisite for hiring. Also, in most of these organizations, top-level computer-related executives are holders of a PhD in computer science.

The program provides opportunities for senior leadership positions in academia as well as the foundation for graduates to start and own their computer-based services companies.

The program duration is a minimum of 48 months and a maximum of 72 months. The first 24 months (4 semesters) are dedicated to coursework, and the subsequent 24 months are for comprehensive examinations, research, disserta- tion writing, and defense.

It is important to note that while we value the need for students to actively undergo the coursework requirements of the program, we emphasize that satisfactory completion of coursework is not the primary objective of the PhD program.

It is mandatory for each student to demonstrate mastery of the specific area of interest, write and publish quality articles in credible peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings; and produce a quality original disser- tation that contributes to the existing body of knowledge.

The program is rigorous but it also provides flexible timing for busy professionals to advance their careers.

The program tuition for PhD Computer Science is N3, 300,000.00 for 60 credit hours @55.000 per credit (Three million three hundred thousand naira only).
