Dean's Welcome Message

You are highly welcome to the School of Information Technology & Computing (SITC). As a technology-driven university with an agenda to support socio-economic development, the School of Information Technology & Computing is a flagship school and a critical pillar in AUN’s mission as a Development University. The School is dedicated to nurturing a new generation of leaders in the ICT sector who will take center stage in problem-solving, relevant research, and the development of innovative solutions for businesses, corporate organizations, government ministries, and agencies.


Our faculty members are seasoned professionals with strong academic and industry experience gained in the United States, the United Kingdom, Europe, Australia, India, Russia, Nigeria, and other African countries, including South Africa.


We are proud of our graduates, many of whom are founders and chief executive officers of successful IT businesses in Nigeria, while others are employed by leading global organizations such as Google, Silicon Valley firms, Deloitte, and PwC. In addition, several of our alumni have received full scholarships to pursue Master’s and Ph.D. degrees at renowned institutions including Georgetown University, Columbia University, Carnegie Mellon University in the United States, as well as Oxford University, the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom, and other universities in Japan, South Korea, Australia, and South Africa.


SITC is committed to serving as a one-stop destination for IT and Computing degrees at all levels. The School offers Bachelor of Science programs in core computing disciplines recognized by the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), the Association for Information Systems (AIS), and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), including Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, and Data Science. In addition, the School offers Master of Science and Ph.D. programs in Computer Science, Information Systems, and Data Science, as well as two professional Master’s degree programs in Information Technology and Telecommunications.


All SITC programs are fully accredited by the National Universities Commission. Our library, facilities, and laboratories are state-of-the-art and equipped with modern technologies and software applications. These programs are designed to build local capacity by drawing on global knowledge and expertise, adapting technologies suitable for the African context, and promoting the development of locally relevant content with global impact.
