Abdullahi Iliyasu attended the University of Maiduguri where he obtained his BSc in Agriculture (Second Class Upper Division) and MSc in Agricultural Economics in 1999 and 2005, respectively. He also obtained Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics at Universiti Putra Malaysia in 2014 and worked for two years as a postdoctoral research fellow (2015-2017) in the same University.
Iliyasu has thirteen (13) years of working experiences in both teaching and research at the tertiary institution level. He taught many economics courses both at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Currently, he is the Chair of the Economics Department.
Iliyasu has twenty-two (22) publications in peer-reviewed journals and eight papers in conference proceedings. His Google Scholar citations were four hundred and eighteen (418) with an h-index of eleven (11) to date.
Iliyasu is computer literate and has a vast knowledge of Microsoft packages (word, excel, and PowerPoint) and other academic professional software such as Data Envelopment Analysis Program (DEAP), Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS), and STATA.
