50 Students Get JAMB Breakthrough Thanks to AUN's Michael David

Fifty underprivileged Nigerian students took a decisive step toward higher education on February 17, 2025, thanks to Michael David, a Business Administration student at the American University of Nigeria (AUN), who sponsored their registration for the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination.

Driven by a desire to give back to his community, Michael rooted his motivation in personal responsibility and action. “I looked at my society and decided to help those less privileged to boost their academic growth,” he said. “In Nigeria today, people often complain about the economy or government instead of asking what they can contribute.”

The initiative was executed through his foundation, Future African Leaders, in collaboration with a team of dedicated peers. It covered the full cost of examination fees and logistics, with funding from Michael’s personal contributions and a crowdfunding campaign supported by friends, family, and fellow AUN students.

Reflecting on what inspired his commitment, Michael added, “One thing that motivated my community service is my university, AUN. We are being trained to do things differently. The community spirit I have now was nurtured at AUN.”

The beneficiaries—students from the Root to Fruit Foundation, an orphanage committed to education and mentorship—expressed heartfelt gratitude for the gesture. One of them, Fadimatu Sa’ad, shared: “You have not just sponsored our education; you have invested in our destiny. May God repay your kindness abundantly.”

Beyond easing the financial burden of 50 students, the initiative has sparked renewed hope and demonstrated the power of youth-led impact. Michael David and his team have not only expanded access to opportunity but also embodied the values of service, leadership, and social responsibility that define the AUN community.
