The American University of Nigeria (AUN) is proud to honor excellence among its community members, recognizing Dr. Ibrahim Inuwa and Mr. Olajubu Babalola Josiah as the Faculty and Staff of the Month for November 2024. These awards highlight their exceptional contributions to our university.
AUN President Dr. DeWayne Frazier praised both recipients, emphasizing that their recognition is a collective decision made by the AUN community. “These awards reflect the voice of many, not just one individual. Dr. Inuwa and Mr. Josiah exemplify the dedication and innovation that make AUN a leader in educational excellence. Their hard work inspires us all,” he stated.
Dr. Ibrahim Inuwa, Assistant Professor of Information Systems, has been recognized as Faculty of the Month of November 2024 for his remarkable contributions to teaching, research, and leadership. Having earned his PhD from AUN in 2022, Dr. Inuwa is now a respected advocate for ethical practices in information systems. In expressing his gratitude, he remarked, “I am honored by this recognition, as my mission is to make meaningful contributions through research and teaching. AUN truly is the Harvard of Nigeria, and I am proud to be part of such a remarkable institution.”
Mr. Olajubu Babalola Josiah, a psychotherapist and counseling psychologist, received the Staff of the Month Award for his impactful mental health and well-being work at AUN. Since joining the university three years ago, he has initiated pioneering programs like “Stay Afloat” to help students manage academic pressure, as well as the Mental Health Ambassador Club. Mr. Josiah reflected on his recognition by saying, “This initiative has shown me that my efforts are seen and appreciated. I want to thank whoever nominated me; this inspires me to continue making a difference.”
