AUN Celebrate Innovations at Fall 2024 Capstone Final Presentation by Communication and Multimedia Design Students

The American University of Nigeria (AUN) proudly hosted the Fall 2024 Capstone Final Presentation for its Communication and Multimedia Design Department on November 22, 2024, in the Multimedia Laboratory. This event marks a crucial milestone for graduating seniors, fulfilling a key requirement for graduation.

The Capstone projects serve as a platform for students to engage in practical work that addresses community development needs through innovative and impactful storytelling. Each project allows students to apply the skills and knowledge gained throughout their studies in a way that contributes directly to societal improvement.

The presentations featured a wide array of topics, all rooted in intensive investigative journalism aimed at uncovering real-life challenges faced by communities. Some students took on their projects individually, while others collaborated in groups to explore various pressing issues.

Notable projects included Circles’ Wellness (A Podcast on mental health) by  Rikeino Bent, struggle to Strength (A mini-documentary on the life of Usman in school) by Ruqayyatu Yero and Phoebe Philips, Voices of Strength: Her Silence, Our Voice (A campaign against abuse) by Michelle Niyang and Monica Mbadwu, Fatima Adeniyi, Abosede Favour Adeboye, and Fatima Usman - Behind the Scenes: Unveiling the life of unsung heroes in our community.

Others are Voices of the Almajiri [A documentary on the challenges Almajiri faces] by Fatimah Ibrahim Garkida and Two Decades of Excellence (A documentary on AUN’s 20th Anniversary) by Itekena Omuku.

The Capstone Final Presentation highlights the creativity and dedication of AUN students as they prepare to enter the professional world, their work promises to inspire and enact meaningful change within their communities.
