The American University of Nigeria (AUN) recently marked a significant milestone in its academic journey with the launch of its Journal System Platform on November 28, 2024, reflecting its dedication to community-based research and interdisciplinary academic discourse.
The launch event gathered faculty, staff, and students, highlighting the collaborative spirit of the university. In his welcome address, Dr. Momoh Lawal Hussaini, Chair of the General Education Department emphasized the importance of the platform in fostering community-focused research initiatives.
Dr. Adewale James, the interim Provost, and Editor-in-Chief of the journals, introduced the editorial team, which includes notable scholars such as Dr. Abubakar Hamid Danlami, Editor of the AUN Journal of Social Sciences; Dr. Ikedinachi Ayodele Power Wogu, Editor of the AUN Journal of Arts & Humanities; Dr. Bello Magaji, Editor of the AUN Journal of Law; Dr. Abubakar Sadiq Husseini, Editor of the AUN Journal of Engineering and Technology; and Prof. Bolade Oyeyinka Agboola, Editor of the AUN Journal of Pure and Applied Sciences as well as the Co-editors Dr. Israel Adeleke and Mr. Omarchi Okolo.
President Dewayne Frazier expressed his enthusiasm about the journal’s potential to elevate AUN’s academic reputation. “This journal will not only showcase our academic rigor but also bring global exposure,” he stated, underscoring the goal of creating an international platform for research dissemination.
Dr. Frazier also called for increased student participation, particularly in relation to senior projects. He emphasized how engagement with the journals would provide students with valuable experience and prepare them for graduate studies. “This publication is an opportunity to demonstrate their readiness for advanced academic challenges,” he concluded.
