At their First Community Service, Fall Semester Students Get Lucky

Community service remains a core of the AUN experience. Long after graduation, students cherish their first and subsequent experiences serving society. However, the Fall 2023 semester students will treasure their first day in the community on Saturday, August 26.

President DeWayne Frazier and Dean Byron Bullock joined them to open their historic account in community service. How lucky!

The venue was the Lutheran Church of Christ Nigeria (LCCN) Academy, Yola town. Their task: give an old block of five classrooms and a staff office a fresh coat of paint.

As they painted and toiled to transform the look and feel of the buildings, they danced and nodded to blaring music; the new students also linked up with their peers and people in the neighborhood. Friendship cords that extend beyond the four walls of the college were struck. Mission accomplished.

Mr. Zakka Rimamnyang, Vice-Principal of the Academy, appreciated the work and commitment. He was amazed at President Frazier's infectious energy.

"I lack the appropriate words to appreciate the Founder, HE Atiku Abubakar, and the new President, Dr. DeWayne Frazier for picking our School to be the one to be fixed. The students will be more than glad to meet the new-look classes when they resume soon. Thank you very much, AUN," he stated.
