AUN through its Center for Entrepreneurship is a major partner in the SME (small & medium enterprises) Power-Up.

The program targets owners of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), helping to address challenges they face which limits their sustenance.

The program's promoters said they target no less than 31,800 MSMEs across Nigeria, helping them become better businesses..

For the second phase of the SME Boot Camp that was held on November 7, 2019, it helped mobilize 100 entrepreneurs in partnership with four strategic players in Yola-Jimeta: AUN Community Service Unit, Adamawa Chamber of Commerce, Yola, Women's Group, Yola, and Goggoji Zumunchi Initiative, Yola.

The day-long event had specialists who facilitated two sessions of training in two areas: Basic Tax Principles, Accounting Record-Keeping & CashFlow Management, and Entrepreneurial Development.

In the first phase of the project that was held on April 23, the AUN Center helped to mobilize 300 entrepreneurs from the local community.

Assistant Director in charge of the AUN Center for Entrepreneurship, Dr. Lukman Raimi, said it is one of the strategies to help increase self-employment in Adamawa State while contributing to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the country.

"This will lead to a reduction in poverty and criminal activities."

At the Boot Camp, the participants received a motivational talk from the Coordinator, Kazeem Sanusi, who stressed the importance of determination and focus as ingredients of success in business.

On October 5, the Center facilitated business intervention financing, helping no fewer than 40 micro-entrepreneurs from Yola-Jimeta to get funds from a Lagos-based charity organization, the Zakat, and Sadaqat Foundation.
