AUN Community Cooperative Society Elects New Executives

On Friday, December 8, 2023, the AUN Community Cooperative Society (AUNCCS) held its general election in the Commencement Hall lobby, to elect new executive members who will run the affairs of the society for a new term. 

The newly elected executive members are Emmanuel Nicholas as President, Gidado Ahmed as Vice- President, Godwin Edwin as Secretary-General, Ganni Cletus as Assistant Secretary General, Peter Ogbe as Treasurer, John Samuel as Financial Secretary, Zinariya James as Provost, and Achesom Muzong as Public Relations Officer.

AUNCCS’s new President elect, Mr. Emmanuel Nicholas, whose 3-point agenda include transparency, recovery, and growth, expressed his gratitude to the AUN Community Cooperative members for electing him unopposed. He added that the confidence and respect bestowed on him are gestures he won’t take for granted. He also stated that he was impressed by the organic representation of various departments of AUN, as seen in the election’s final result. 

While thanking the outgoing executives for their services to the cooperative, Mr. Nicholas assured both old and prospective members of his team’s commitment to propel AUNCCS forward.

The Director of Adamawa State chapter of Cooperative Societies, Ms. Zainab Idi Bode, who was invited by the election committee as an observer, commended the professionalism with which the election was conducted. 

According to Ms. Zainab, she has witnessed numerous elections of cooperative societies in Nigeria, and the manner in which AUN Community Cooperative conducted its members to have a free and fair general election is commendable and worthy of emulations. She urged the elected members to create synergy that will prove they are on track for the progress of the society.
