More than one hundred college students from four different high schools in the Yola metropolis were in attendance at the American University of Nigeria, (AUN) Admission Department’s recruitment program tagged, “Recruitment Visit for Fall 2024” which was held in the e-Library Auditorium, on March 8, 2024.
During his opening remarks, AUN President, Dr. DeWayne Frazier welcomed the students and encouraged them to take advantage of AUN's liberal arts education system, which includes critical thinking, general education classes, entrepreneurship coaching, community service learning, leadership training, and public speaking opportunities.
Dr. Frazier also hinted at opportunities available at AUN, such as study abroad and student exchange programs.
Mr. Abdulrahaman Bapullo, an AUN alumnus and former SGA president who is currently the admissions coordinator, enthralled the students with information about what it takes to become an AUN student and the many advantages that accompany it. Mr. Bapullo described his academic experience at AUN and how it paved the way for him to travel to several nations and interact with well-known diplomats.
“During my time, I was able to participate in a lot of campus activities where I had the opportunity to travel to over five countries. I have been to the US three times, and I will always have to brag about that because it is not easy. I couldn’t afford it, but because I was in AUN, AUN did everything for me,” Bapullo stated.
