AUN Ethics and Leadership Students Inspire Concordia College Peers

American University of Nigeria (AUN) students of ethics and leadership on November 15, 2024, took their community service outreach program to Concordia College. The initiative aimed to teach ethics and leadership principles to Concordia students, emphasizing character-building and responsible citizenship.

Dr. Genger Peter, the AUN instructor for the Ethics and Leadership class, praised his students for their commitment to nurturing leadership and ethical awareness. “By sharing their coursework knowledge, AUN students are reinforcing their own understanding while empowering others to become better citizens and future leaders,” he remarked.

Desire Unachukwu, an AUN participant, underscored the significance of ethical behavior and effective leadership qualities, encouraging Concordia students to embody integrity, accountability, and empathy. This outreach served as a stepping-stone for AUN students to impart what they had learned to younger members of the community.

Ene Francisca Ogb, a Concordia College student, said that AUN students have made her see that ethics not only helps individuals grow but also contributes to making society a better place. “I have learned the importance of taking responsibility and being fair in all situations, no matter the circumstances. Even if a close friend commits an offense, integrity demands that I report the wrongdoing, not to be seen as a bad person, but to ensure that the mistake is corrected. Integrity is about doing what is right, even when it is difficult, because fairness and accountability are essential for building trust and positive change.”

The Concordia College students actively engaged in discussions and group activities, making the session both educational and enjoyable.

The event reflects AUN’s commitment to community service and blending academic excellence with social responsibility.
