On October 30, 2019, a team comprising officials from the AUN Safety & Security Drug Unit and the Judicial Affairs Office visited the Yola command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
The purpose according to Barrister Mbursa D. Gwany, was mainly to rekindle the good working relationship of both parties, NDLEA and AUN.
Barr Gwany said the meeting agreed to continue drug sensitization training at AUN for both staff and faculty.
The Adamawa State Command of the NDLEA also agreed to promote drug awareness workshops for students at AUN by 2020. To add to this, the Command also encouraged the AUN team to increase vigilance at the front gate and on-campus as many other substances are now being abused in Yola and environs.
