The National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved new postgraduate programs at the American University of Nigeria (AUN), Yola, with effect from the 2026/2027 academic session.
The approval followed a resource verification exercise conducted by a panel of experts, which assessed the University’s human and material resources to determine its readiness to offer the proposed programs.
In a letter addressed to AUN President Professor DeWayne Frazier and signed by the NUC Director of Academic Planning, Abubakar M. Girei, the Commission stated that its Executive Secretary had approved the programs for full-time study at the University’s main campus.
The newly approved programs include:
- Master of Science (M.Sc.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Economics
- Graduate Diploma (GD), Master of Laws (LL.M.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Law
The approval expands AUN’s postgraduate offerings in Economics and Law, providing additional opportunities for advanced study in these disciplines.
