AUN Recruits 28 New Professors To Strengthen Academic Enterprise

To strengthen its academic enterprise and promote sustainability, the American University of Nigeria (AUN) embarked on a faculty recruitment drive in preparation for the Fall 2020 semester.

All new faculty are either Full Professors, Associate Professors, or Assistant Professors all of whom hold Ph.D. degrees with many years of teaching and research from top-class universities from abroad and around Nigeria.

According to the Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) and Provost, Professor Attahir Yusuf, a total of 28 faculty members have been recruited with 21 of them in the School of Arts & Sciences (SAS), 5 in the School of IT & Computing (SITC), and 2 in the School of Business & Entrepreneurship (SBE). More appointments are in the pipeline. He also explained that  the large number of faculty recruitment in the School of Arts & Sciences is in readiness for the commencement of graduate programs in the school. This is another significant move in strengthening the graduate program of the University in general to produce leaders that will respond to the current developmental challenges faced by Nigeria, Africa, and the world.

The American University of Nigeria (AUN) is Africa’s foremost development and entrepreneurship University situated in Yola, a city in Adamawa State of North-East Nigeria. The University currently has five academic schools namely: Arts & Sciences (SAS), Business & Entrepreneurship (SBE), IT & Computing (SITC), Engineering (SOE), and Law (SOL). There is also a Graduate School with graduate programs domiciled in the School of Business & Entrepreneurship (SBE) and the School of IT & Computing (SITC).
