A recently signed Memorandum of Understanding between the American University of Nigeria (AUN and the University of Northern Iowa (UNI) in the United States offers hope that the management of both institutions can explore collaborations in activities of common interest, including research and cultural exchanges.
The agreement, signed in September 2023 by the Presidents of AUN and UNI, Dr. DeWayne P. Frazier and Dr. Mark A. Nook, respectively, establishes a framework for cooperation in educational and research activities in fields and disciplines offered at both institutions.
According to the MoU, potential areas of collaboration include joint educational, training, and research activities, exchange of faculty and graduate students, seminars, conferences, and symposia.
It also has the potential to explore the exchange of faculty for research and student participation in short-term immersion programs and transfer articulations for undergraduate and graduate students.
